Curriculum

St. George’s School is jointly recognised by the British Department of Education and the Spanish Ministry of Education and Science.

We cater to children from the ages of 3 to 8 years in a friendly, safe, and nurturing environment that promotes learning and development.

British Curriculum.

At St. George's School, we specialise in delivering a comprehensive education in English to all our students. Our curriculum aligns with the British educational standards, ensuring a high-quality learning experience, and we are regularly inspected by Ofsted to ensure we are meeting the required standards. All classes are taught by qualified and experienced teachers who have English as their first language, and who conduct classes solely in English. Students receive individual support with reading and phonics. We also offer a range of after-school activities conducted in English, designed to accommodate both native and non-native speakers, fostering a diverse and inclusive learning environment. In addition, we seek to foster personal skills such as confidence, self-esteem, a positive attitude, kindness to others, and an enjoyment of leaning.

Spanish Curriculum.

St. George’s School is fully committed to the teaching of Spanish language, culture, maths and science to all our pupils. We follow the Spanish curriculum (Junta de Andalucía) and it is treated as a stand-alone subject on the timetable. The teachers are fully qualified Spanish nationals and classes are taught completely in Spanish. Children also receive individualised attention, including extra reading and phonics 2-3 times per week above and beyond the timetabled classes. Children will also take part in art and music classes in Spanish, contributing to their overall exploration and appreciation of the language. We also offer a number of after-school activities in Spanish, designed to accommodate both native and non-native speakers
